It has been said that Borders Children’s Charity is one of the best-kept secrets in the Borders. Despite working away at supporting children in desperate situations since 1966, some people haven’t heard of us.
But BCC supporter David Matthews, who lives in Darnick, near Melrose, is helping us change all that. In October he went climbing in the Himalayas and took our flag with him.
At 18000 ft, on Gorak Shep overlooking Everest Base Camp, he let it fly.
Congratulations to David on a fantastic achievement and many thanks for supporting BCC.
If you would like to support BCC too (but don’t fancy the 18k climb!) you can simply donate by text, e.g. to donate £10 text BCCT03 £10 to 70070.
Pictorial Photography
Pictorial Photography of Berwick-upon-Tweed recently held a series of photo shoots in the grounds of Wedderburn Castle, Duns. The fee that would usually be charged for the shoots was donated to the BCC. The sun shone and the resulting images will be a joy to many families for years to come.
